I recently had some blood work done and my PCP told me my calcium level was high. She also told me my BP was high again, 238/95. I am taking Benicar for the HBP, but could my calcium level be high because of it? I have had parathyroid surgery in the past and my PTH is low. PCP said that low PTH and high calcium isn't right. I'm worried...

I've never heard of HBP causing high calcium levels, but I know high calcium does cause HBP. Could it be possible that your previous parathyroid surgery was unsuccessful? Have you had your PTH levels checked recently? Sometimes, the wrong (healthy) parathyroid is removed instead of the diseased one. It's worth having the simple blood test to confirm.
