Hello,I'm 23 and I'm getting ready to go my doctor on July 11th to be checked for PCOS,because I have extremly irregular periods, anyway,I was curious if you could still have the syndrome despite having absolutely none of the other symptoms? I have been overweight most of my life and just recently I have lost 80 pounds in five months,I was wondering if my bizarre periods could be caused by a lack of nutrition? I am also clinically depressed and I was wondering if that was a factor:confused:

What do you mean irregular periods? They're infrequent or frequent?Come some months and some not?

I was diagnosed with PCOS wen I was 15. I went to the Doctors as my periods were irregular and they sent me for a scan which showed the cysts on my ovaries. As for other symptoms, I'm not overweight, overly hairy or anything so either I have a mild case or it will worsen as I get older (which I'm hoping isn't the case). I'm 22 now and on the pill so my periods are regular thanks to that. I suffered from acne as a teeneager (I guess thats a symptom as well) but after being on the pill, it's cleared up completely. So in answer to your question, yes I think you can still have PCOS with the odd symptom.

Hope this helps :)
