This could not have happened at a worse time...So my ET is scheduled for tomorrow. So last night me, DH and my 2 kitties were sleeping peacefully when something spooked my one cat and he ended up scratching me on accident....No big deal right? Well....6 hours later I was at the doctors office and now I have cellulitis of my hand. My fingers are the size of sausages, they're discolored, can't move them, plus I have a fever. So I was prescribed antibiotics and Vicodin and they said if it doesn't get better I'll need admitted to the hospital for IV antibiotics and possible surgery:eek: . My RE said that it would still be ok to do the ET tomorrow as long as the infection stays contained in my hand and doesn't spread. She said the antibiotics and pain meds shouldn't harm the embabies or have an effect on pregnancy...but I am just nervous/worried that this infection along with my fever, antibiotics/pain meds and added stress may affect our outcome....This sucks!!!

You poor thing, that is so unlucky. I hope your hand heals and you do not have to go into hospital. Fingers crossed all will be alright, thinking of you, keep us posted.

Wow, that really stinks. You must be feeling terrible. I would probably be going crazy! At least your RE thinks that you will still be able to proceed w/o any effect on the embabies. That is positive. Hopefully your hand will get back to normal really quickly and everything will go smooothly. Try to take it easy (I know, I know, easier said than done) and maybe everything will still be okay. I will pray for you even harder now :)

Ironically, years ago I was a vet tech, and got scratched by a cat, and experianced the same thing. They called it cat scratch fever. My hand blew up, and I got fevers, and didn't realize anything was relating to the cat scratch until 2 days after it happened, so I got lucky! You treated it right away, so you should be fine! Once you have the antibiotics, it should clear up rather quickly! So keep smiling and I agree if your RE said the transfer should be no problem, then that is great! Lots of well wishes!

Nice pull out.............your a trooper i would have been totally freaking out. I am very happy that the swelling went down which obviously means the infection didn't spread. I am so excited for you let us know as soon as possible how many embabies you get.
