Does anyone take Glucosamine and Chondroitin for arthritis? I have had IBS for years and ever so often I have a bad flare up. I usually try the process of elimination to try to find out what made it worse. Mine is real bad right now. The C kind. The only thing that I am taking that is different is the Glucosamine combination. I'm curious if anyone else has reacted like this to it. I discontinued taking it today to see if that could be a problem for me.

I would say they do cause constipation because they are known to come with another supplement which is designed to avoid constipation.

My wife has been taking it for well over 2 years with no problems but she also take psyllium capsules twice daily as a bowel regulator.

I read that they do cause constipation in about 17% of people who take them, and I guess I fall in that group. I am doing a lot better since I quit taking them. I'm going to try chicken collagen capsules for my arthritis. I hope that helps. I don't like taking drugs.
