Hello,
I've never in my life had upper digestive problems..so this is unusual for me.

What I'm experience is tightness in the upper chest, I suspect this is esophogeal related.. I can also feel the tightness (pain) thru to my upper back.. it's quite painful.. perhaps the tightness are spasms..I don't know..
No stomach pain whatsoever..just this horrible tightness and also somewhat of a lump in my lower throat..

CAN ANYONE ADVISE WHAT THIS IS..OR IF THEY HAVE SIMILAR PROBLEMS??

The pain in the back is consistent with pain in the large bowel eg wind. Your other symptoms could be anything although if you have a problem somewhere you can get other symptoms elsewhere such as tightness.

I would have it checked out by a doc because tightness in the chest could also be cardiac related. Better be safe, right?

I believe in being safe too. Pain in the Thoracic
area of the body needs to be monitored.
You might want to begin taking your daily pulse and BP and make a Doctors appointment for a check up with respect to your symptoms.
Cardiovascular disease often begins as a twinge.
At first there's not much to go on until a problem progresses.
Early detection of many body problems is really the key
to maintaining good health.
So check with your doctor and keep an eye on vital body signals.
Hopefully all will be well and may the answers for your discomfort be easy.

Gallbladder problems give these symptoms. Do you get it after eating fatty foods or spicy foods? A lot of food is hard to tolerate fot the gallbladder. I have the same symptoms. A diet is the best. But get it checked by a gastro-enterologist

I have the exact symptoms. I have had upper gi, lower BE, and a Scope down my throat and into the stomach. Showed a little reflux but I constantly battle this (for three years.) I am 31. I find that when my chest hurts, I can feel nots around my upper shoulders and shoulder blades. If my wife or something massages my knots for a little bit my chest feels better (like the balled up muscles are affecting my pec muscles and making my ches and sometimes arm pit on the left side hurt. Get Nexium for you GI problems. Aciphex is ok, Prevacid causes me more GI problems. Hang in there and keep your doc looking instead of just labeling. Write down the symptoms so you do not forget to tell your doc. One missed symptom and he may be thinking regular heartburn vs GERD or worse.

Hi I am 38 years old female... I had a hysterectomy in sept 2002 just prior to that I started having some chest pains... After they found the tumor, which was suspicious of cancer. I thought a tumor the size of a grapefruit on my ovary may have been causing the pain... It turned out to just be a cyst no cancer ... after my surgery and recovery I had gained about 25 lbs since my surgery. My chest and upper back lump in my throat and even discomfort when I swallow and throbbing through from my chest to my back. I notice this mostly when I am laying flat. I have a low energy level most of the time, heaviness feeling so to speak. This has gotten unbearable. I have been going to the doctor for 9 months trying to figure out a cause for my pain. They first tried saying it is anxiety, stress and or depression gave me paxil, Zoloft wellbutron . None of these medications helped. I was very persistent so over the last 9 months the doctor did chest x-ray, blood work, full body bone scan with contrast which was negative. Electrocardiogram (ECG / EKG) which I had also been to the ER with the pain on several occasions and they had done the EKG they were always abnormal. I could take my pulse and feel the skipped heart beats as many as 25 in a minute. I was finally sent to a cardiologist he did an angiogram which was negative my blood work showed high cholesterol so I was given Tricor for that which I am now taking I had a ct of the chest and abdomen with contrast. This showed I have according to my family physician a significant amount of cholestrol around my aorta. Just having a negative angio gram. I went back to the Cardiologist he reviewed the ct scans said it is fine. Continue taking the tricor. Then I was sent to a G-I Specialist finally last week I had an Upper GI endoscopy, sometimes-called EGD. At that time the Dr did an Esophageal Dilatation. I have acid reflux I read on it and it said it could cause noncardiac chest pain and chronic pain syndrome. Following these procedures Dr. started me on nexium. I was so happy thinking they have finally found the problem the next day I was feeling great thinking I was cured. But that soon subsided after the excitement it has been a week I have been on the Nexium the pharmacist said I should have had relief by now it still hurts and I can't imagine living like this the rest of my life. I hurt all the time and have done everything. I am now seeing a counselor. I do not understand any of this pain and want to find some relief it is almost like I have to burp from my mid to upper back up through my chest and the lump in my throat but I can’t. I have also started within the past month hurting in my armpits and have also just had a mammogram and ultra sound of the breast, which is ok. I just started the Akins diet to hopefully lose the extra pounds and maybe find some relief that way. Does this make since to anyone I am so tired of the pain and worry?
