I was wondering for those that have IgM Selective Deficiency, what are your IgM levels. My IgM is low at 33 . I don't know how low your IgM has to be have the above title. Should I be concerned if only if it drops below 20? normal range on my lab sheet says 40-230

My other question is that did your IgM drop steadily every few years. Or did it stay stable.

Also, I'm really having a lot of sinus problems and was wondering what you thought about any kind of surgury with a low IgM.

Thanks

my counts vary around 26-30. The Dr. that I see says that counts less than 40 usually are considered low. The problems I have had are capsulated infection and bone graft reabsobtion. I recently had sinus surgery in Febuary which has done much to relieve sinus infection. I had been on some anitbiotics (agmentum 2000 ect.) for about three years. Since March have not had to take any medications. I have had bone grafts that were reabsorbed twice.

Thanks for the info. I've only been on antibiotics for three times in the last five years. They refuse to give them to me. Antibiotics are hard to get now at the doctors office. You almost have to beg even with a low IgM. But then I don't think I'm going to the right doctor.
I had foot surgery to remove a "Morton's Neuroma" and it took FOREVER to heal. I'm glad the podiatrist was smart enough to prescibe me two coarse of antibiotics. It was after that I went and got blood work done and dicovered I had low IgM.
