For about a month now I have had a white spot on my tongue. It looks almost like it will flake off but it doesn't. When I brush my tongue only a little bit comes off and there is still a small little white spot on my tongue. My tongue has started hurting and I have abnormally large taste buds in some spots. Am I just freaking out? Why would this not go away, and what else could this be?

Any (ANY!!!) information would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

i had a white pimple on the side of my tongue for awhile too. I ended up going to an oral surgeon to show it to him and it was nothing. I kept trying to pick at it too . It finally went away.

It's not much at all like a pimple. It's actually embedded in my tongue, which worries me the most. Right now one of my taste buds is imflammed and looks like what you were describing, but its a lot different than the white spot on my tongue.
