I just started Yamsin this past Sunday and the only side effect I notice is extreme fatigue. I have a hard time getting up and i'm tired all day long. When I get home from work, all I want to do is take a nap. Has anyone else had this same side effect when they first began Yasmin? Thanks.

i started taking yasmin about 2 1/2 months ago. It hasn't effected me like you're describing, actually since starting it, i've been waking up in the early early morning not able to go back to sleep. And that's after going to bed around 1-2am every night. Then like clockwork I'm awake around 6. I really don't have any complaints about other than spotting for the first 2 months but that's stopped now. I've even lost 12 lbs. since I started taking it! Hope this helps ya! :wave:

The fatigue is caused by the progestin, drosperione. There are other birth control pills that contian different progestins that won't make you feel tired.

If I stick with Yasmin for a month or two, do you think I will get used to the hormone?

I was on it for 2 months and hated it. But I've had the same problems with another kind of birth control. Your body may get used to it. I'd give it a few months if I were you.

For me it took a whole 2 months for my body to get used to it. I stopped spotting when i started my 3rd pack of pills.
