Hello All! My mother (age 73, but previously extremely active) has been diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer with mets to her liver and lymphnodes. What can anyone tell me about Avastin and Fulfox? Her doctors want to treat her with something else, but another doctor I've consulted says that the Avastin and Fulfox is the way to go! Please reach me here or via my email at REMOVED. Thank you so much!

Hello -
Well my Dad had the same problem - Colon Cancer with mets to the liver..although every single one of his lymph nodes was negative.
The oncologist might not want to put your Mom on the FOLFOX with Avastin regime due to her age...those are some serious, serious drugs..My Dad was also a very active and healthy man before he began chemo, and even he used to feel a difference.
Dad ended up dying due to a car accident....it's funny. First the cancer, then the accident which landed him in ICU Trauma for 2 weeks, unconsious. Funny how life works.
Hope that helps....
