I need somebody to listen to my problems. First of all, 3 years ago i weighted 145 pounds but now i weight 125 and it seems like I can't gain my weight no matter how much i eat, I'm a smoker, light drinker, and smokes pot. but my main concern is whenever i get cut or wounds, it takes forever or never heal. I have scar on my left arm from falling about 3month ago, it didn't heal and turn out very dark color, and looks like dead skin. that's only one of many wounds. 2 years ago, i went to see the doctor due to stomach pain. i didn't put camera inside my body because I didn't have money, but the doctor assumed that it was stomach ulcer, and gave me some medication, but didn't work that well. I have also tested for HIV, thankfully it came out to be negative. my family is very concerned about my weight loss. any suggestions? thanks john

Hi there. Unfortunately your symptoms could be caused by a ton of different medical diagnoses, so the best advice I can give is for you to have a complete physical exam by a doctor. Be sure to discuss all of your concerns so that the appropriate tests can be ordered. If money is a problem, find out from your doctor if there's financial assistance from your state (like Medicaid) if you qualify.

Keep us posted on what you find out. I'll keep you in my thoughts/prayers.

Hi Katie, thanks for your reply. You said my symptoms could be caused by a ton of different medical diagnoses, what are some possibilities? I have pain on my lower left tummy and top left tummy(sometimes). I know that it's hard to figure out what it is by listening to my symptoms but I want to have an idea what it is before I visit the Doc. Please, if there is anyone out there with similar symptoms, tell me about you condition. Thanks

i'm not trying to preach to you or anything, but drinking smoking, and smoking pot will definately not help your problems...i'm not saying that all your problems are caused by that, but pot has some VERY nasty physical consequences, and thin blood may be one of them (which would cause the slow healing wounds and excessive bleeding) you should see a doctor about the problems, but make sure he is aware of your drug intake, b/c it is VERY hard to diagnose someone when under the influence of drugs...the side effects of those drugs can mimic some very scary diseases, so i suggest that you make the first move by going to a support program to kick the pot, or try yourself if you have just taken it a few times....good luck!
