I have been using Maybelline Last Stylist waterproof mascara and I LOVE IT! I have to use waterproof or else I find that it rubs off onto my face around the eye area. The thing is..this stuff is impossible to remove at night! I have been using Maybelline Expert Eyes Moisturizing Remover for waterproof eye makeup (say that 10 times fast) and not only does it not remove it completely..but it is soo oily that it gets in my eye and irritates it..it actually leaves my vision blurry from all of the oil! Does anyone know of a good remover for waterproof mascara that isn't so oily??? Thanks - Catherine

I have tried expensive eye makeup remover, and it doesn't work well on waterproof mascara. I actually use baby oil, and it works like magic. I keep my eyes shut tight and rub a small amount into my lashes, then wipe it off. I then wash my face. I usually don't have problems getting baby oil in my eyes, but if I do, I rinse my eyes with some saline eye drops.

The Mary Kay remover is wonderful...I am trying to find a replacement though because I don't like having to run down a rep just to buy some:rolleyes: I have heard that the Neutrogena is much like it but I'll have to try. I used the Maybelline eye make remover too and it went right in the trash...I got it free attached to some mascara. It made my eyes burn and hurt. My eyes are very sensitive BTW and the MK doesn't bother them at all!!!!!! I cannot use Baby Oil either...burns...

Hi Ladies,
the best remover I have found and I have tried alot is Andrea Eye Q's. It's very inexpensive, does not dry your eyes out, does not make your vision blurry, and it the best for waterproof. It's quick and easy. Not greasy and I must say that it also makes your lashes easy to work with. I have noticed that it does not pull your lashes out and it moisturizes so well that they look longer and thicker as you start using the product.. I just love this product. I have found it at walgreens and at longs. For some reason, Riteaid does not carry it..

All I can say is that I don't recommend the Rimmel eye makeup remover. I like some of their makeup, but was disappointed with this one product. It was hard to get off my waterproof mascara, so I wouldn't buy it again. I have used Mary Kay and thought it was a lot better.. but those are the only 2 I have tried!

You guys are wasting a lot of money. My mom and I have always used Vaselline to remove waterproof mascara or ANY other makeup for that matter, and it works a lot better and is much cheaper.:)

I cannot use vaselline or baby oil on my eyes...it is too greasy for me. That is why I'm looking for more of a water based.

Andea Eye Q was given an Allure Beauty award(just was searching for it and found this out)...the oil free one...I'm going to try that one out. I'm with you Catherine, I cannot stand to use the greasy vaseline or baby oil. For some people it doesn't bother them but it makes my vision blurry for a long time and makes my eyes burn...doesn't mean it doesn't take the mascara off but I don't like it on my eyes. Plus you end up with greasy black goop all over your cheaks that you have to get off. I have also seem good reviews about Neutrogena's and even the Walmart brand eye make-up remover pads. Next time I go in to town I'm going to buy the Andea one first and see how I like it.

I also just started using the brand Andrea-the one for waterproof mascara with aloe and vit e. i did notice an oil free one also but i do wear waterproof a lot in the summer so i got this one. just enough to take all my eye makeup off without being too greasy or pulling on my lashes. And i love the fact that they are the pre soaked little pads and i dont have to buy anything else:) (note: i have sensitive eyes-used to wear contacts all my life and i have had laser eye surgery so this product is so far the best i've found;)

Great thanks for the information! I'll be sure and check the label to see that it removes waterproof mascara!:) I think that what I dislike the most about the Mary Kay remover, even though it works great, is that you have to pour it on something which is either a cotton ball/pad(gets fibers in your eyes) toilet paper or tissue(gets lint in your eyes) so having it on a pad already is going to be a good thing for me!

I went to Walgreens today and couldn't find the Andreas eye makeup remover...Im sure that I'm just overlooking it. Can someone tell me what the package looks like or what color the bottle is? I got the Neutrogena's instead and tried it out. It does a really good job, but I still want to try Andreas. Thanks for all these tips!!! :) - Catherine

Clarins for sensitive eyes is great, a bit expensive. But works so well, and is not greasy at all.

You can search for it and it will come up at on line stores and see it but it appears it's in a plastic jar.

I love Lancome - it is the only kind that easily takes off waterproof mascara and doesn't leave a greasy residue in your eyes.

My sister gave me a sample size of the lancome remover and I see no difference between it and the Mary Kay...I bought some Neutrogena a couple days ago because I was not able to find Andrea Eye Q at a good price...I've heard really good things about the Nue. and I have to agree...it's great! As far as I can tell the Neutrogena, Mary Kay and Lancome are to me the same exact thing. Neither is greasy, all take off waterproof mascara easily and neither irritate my eyes and my eyes are extremely sensitive! So I have to go by price and the Neutrogena wins hands down. I'm going to still look for the Andrea Eye Q if I can find it cheap but it was almost $6 for a little jar at Rite Aid...I've heard of people finding it at a dollar store:) . I've also heard more good about Neutrogena than Andrea Q...in fact I saw no negative reviews at all about Neu but some negatives on Andrea's...too oil or didn't remove easy enough.

I forgot that also my sister gave me a sample of some Luxiva (merle norman) eye make-up remover that worked just like the Mary Kay too. I guess it just boils down to what brand you gravitate toward...for me I go for cheap!!!! Ha!

Good to hear you are using Andrea. I just love it and the fact that it is pre-soaked pads makes it faster, easier, and no blurrs for us contact wearers..I too will hope to get laser someday, so it's good to hear that you haven't had problems with Andrea.

Sorry to hear you are having a hard time finding Andrea. At walgreens you can usually find it where they put the make-up that is off brand, or where they will put the make up brushes, makeup tools, ect... It comes in a dark blue plastic jar with a pic of an eyeball on half a face. Sounds stupid huh!! The jar will say "eye makeup remover pads ultra quick" Gosh, I hope that helps. The best part is that hear in CA, it only costs $3+ and no more than $4..let me know if that helps ok.. Good luck..It's out there lol...

Hey guys,
All the products u've mentioned may seem to work, but have u ever think of the way u remove ur waterprof mascara!!!!??:jester:
Simply put the mascara removing cream or oil directly on ur lashes (not too much) & comb the lashes with a clean mascara brush to help loosing it, then u can rub it gently with a cotton pad & wash with water. It works great.

Or simply u can buy the triple action(3 in 1) Johnson & Johnsons' make-up remover tissues, it works eventually, no oil residues, removes the waterproof mascara & all the face make-up (not a waste of time).

I've been reading about people using Extra Virgin Olive Oil for removing waterproof mascara. It's very pure amd safe but if you can't stand anything oily then that won't work for you.
