My son is 10 years old with spastic quad cp.
His trunk is floppy and the rest of him is very tight.
We just did a baclofen interthecal trial that was unsuccessful.
His physiatrist wants him to see another nuerosurgeon for a second opionion,
Did anyone ever hear of the baclofen not working?
Thank you

The stastistics say that the Baclofen pump works in about 87% of patients with CP, so there is a chance that it may not work for your son. Maybe you should get a second trial with a different neurologist (the first doctor may have done the injection incorrectly). When I had mine in April, we knew after two hours that I was a good candidate. I had the pump put in 15 days ago and am doing very well, though still some weakness in my legs. My wife has been a tremendous source of help. I'm supposed to be starting physical therapy this week (being at home and not working has been a major pain for me). I finally drove my car yesterday for the first time since surgery and did well.
