I use the Today's Sponge. It's great for me except for one thing:

After wetting the sponge (it gets sudsy) then inserting it, the vaginal area has that spermicide on it as well. The thing is, no matter how much you wash, the gross "taste" remains. I'm saying this because it makes it taste awful there are there are BAD consequences that way! lol!

Anyone know if I can do something? (Maybe wet it less?)

I used to use the sponge but sorry I think that taste is there to stay- When I used them I think we did all of our fooling around first and then stopped , inserted it and resumed. I wouldn't wet it less, then I think it would be less effective. They are not that effective anyway.

I used one a few weeks ago for the first time in years but now I have an infection so be careful.

I've only seen sponge one time. I was used it to clean the bathroom sink. I was at my friends house helping her clean. Was told that extra sponges were under the sink. Saw a package with sponge written on it. Opened it wet it and scrubbed the sink. I rinsed that thing forever trying to get the soap off it. Little did I know it wasn't soap.

My friend walked in and laughed uncontrollably at me. Pretty sad huh? It gets better I just turned 17 she 14 and the sponge was hers.

yeah, i got the smell too. so i doubt there's anything you can do, sorry. :(
this birth control stuff is really annoying huh? lol

Yes - it really is annoying! LOL. I will not do oral contraceptives for the havoc it reaks on my body.
