to smooth out my face before using foundation. I have finally found a foundation that does not break me out. Now I need a primer to even out the skin surface before using it.

I highly recommend the Laura Mercier primer. I've used it since it came out. It does not make me break out, and I have very acne prone skin.

does it smooth out your skin so that you don't see a ruddy complexion after applying foundation? I don't have huge ruts, but I do see some where I have had alot of acne in the past.

I was looking at the Smashbox and the bare escentuals primer.. not sure which one to go with. I really don't want to buy it and hate it.

Benefit's Dr. Feel Good is pretty awesome! They have it at Sephora so you can try it out.. OR go to a Benefit stand in a department store and they will give you a free mini makeover and you can see how it works. It mattifies but also moisturizes dry spots, and makes your skin SO smooth and soft. I haven't bought it, but I definitely want to sometime.

Ok so this may sound a bit bizarre but what a lot of people are using for a primer is monistat chafing gel. It has the same main ingredients as smashbox and some of the other primers but it is only about $7-$8. It works really well fills in lines and keeps oiliness down some.

I have to agree with delciana about the Monistat Chafing Gel. I've tried many, many expensive brands of primers and after hearing about Monistat gave it a try and LOVE IT!!!!! It smooths out my enlarged pores and makes my fine lines practically disappear. I also find that it makes my foundation last all day. I live in very hot/humid Florida and nothing has made my foundation look so great at the end of the day

Another thing I use if for it on the bottoms of the heals of my feet when I'm wearing sandels. You know that slapping sound you get when your heal slaps up against the sole of your shoe? I put a little bit of Monistat on my heals and it doesn't happen anymore. Just be careful not to put it all over your entire bottom of your foot or you'll slide right out of your shoes.

Is the Monistat chafing gel found in the pharmacy? I thought monistat was for yeast infections. Is it with the yeast infection meds?

Yes it is at most drug/grocery stores in the "personal care" aisle.

You apply this stuff on your face? Is it actually safe for your skin?I think I would be afraid it would make me breakout being it's not made for your face.Has anyone had breakouts from this?

To answer some questions -
Yes you can put it on your face. No it's not for yeast infections. Yes you can buy it near the pharmacy. It's usually near the feminine hygene products. I've found it at Wal Mart and CVS and it's less than $7 for a BIG tube.

I've been using it for several months now and not a single breakout. I swear it works as well, if not better, than some of the most expensive primers on the market. It's a silicone base and the ingredients are pretty much the same as in Smashbox's primer. It's made to help relieve chafing (when your legs rub together, under the breasts, under the arms, etc.). I saw on the internet that some of the top makeup artists had been using it as a makeup primer (don't know who thought to use it the first time) and they swear by it.

It's a lot less expensive and easier to find.

Hope this helps - any other questions and I'll be glad to try and answer:wave:
