Tina I have never heard that, I was told as someone with lupus I am not a good candidate for lasik eye surgery. Yours is a good question, I will be interested in what the others have to say.

I truly do not know if there is a relationship between the two or not, but i can tell you that i have mild Fibromyalgia. I have had nothing but problems with my vision since my Lasik surgery in December. I have had an enhancement, and i am still having problems with ghosting, halos, and haziness

I have fibro, and I had LASIK back in March 0f 2004. It's the best thing that I've ever done for myself. :bouncing: My vision was 20/200 before the surgery, and it is 20/20 now. I'd never heard of it being bad for us fibromites. I have not had any adverse reactions to it, other that halos while driving at night, which was told to me beforehand to be likely. For me, that's an extremely small price to pay to be able to see GREAT the rest of the time. I couldn't see anything without my glasses or contacts before the surgery, and now everything is so clear and sharp. It's absolutely amazing.

Just make sure that you get someone who is board certified to perform LASIK. Unbelieveably, there are tons of people out there who are performing the surgery, but have not been board certified to do so - they are causing lots of problems out there for those who aren't really good candidates for this surgery, but they go ahead and perform it anyway to make money.
