Hi All,

After three years of fighting this, i was finally approved in march for disabilty.
Got my letter of award last month, and first installment of backpay at the end of the month. Apparently because of law, they have to repay me in three installments due to the large amount they awe me (17,000) Got my first monthly
at begining of July. Just yesterday, i recieve a letter from social security telling me that they are witholding $60 a month from my checks due to overpayment. I have read thru all my paper work and can find no indication of this. I have not worked since 1992, and dont recieve, nor have i ever recieved food stamps or anything of the sort from the state or federal government. Can anyone explain what they are talking about. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You.

Hi! First off, congrats to you on making it through this long process!:D

I don't know what the overpayment could be. Do you have an attorney? If you do, I would ask them to take a look at everything and see if they can figure it out. You can also call your local SS office and ask them to explain it to you. I would want to know too. Maybe they figured a yearly increase wrong or some other type of error like that.

Hope you get it figured out soon!
