My husband is 53 years old.He has been plagued with a number of diseases in the last few years.The short list is diabetes,renal failure,high blood pressure,coronary artery disease,and hep C.Thanks to these diseases he only has sight in one eye,he has lost both of his legs above the knee,and he recently almost lost his hand.During his last surgery they did an X-ray and they found a shadow on his lung.He has to go in for another X-Ray on Fri.I have just been reading about this and the only disease that is mentioned is Cancer.(he had a TB test).Is there any thing else that would cause a shadow?He quit smoking 2 years ago.Before that he smoked 3 packs a day.The only symtoms he has had which I didn't know were symtoms are that he is hoarse and has a hard time swallowing.This really has me freaking out.My father died when I was 10 from the same thing.Any info would be appreciated.

He had a chest CT.It said that the findings were most likely atypical scarring.But they also found splenic and liver granulomata and a small 1cm density within the right hepatic lobe.They want another scan in 3 mo.So I questioned the doctor about all of it because this made very little sense to me.He said they couldn't rule out cancer.so I asked about further testing and he said the only thing they could do would to be open him up because the what they needed to see was too low to get a scope to.He said that because of his health that he would not survive the surgery and even if they found something that there wouldn't be anything that could be done for him.Now I would like to know if there are any signs that I could see in the next few monthes that would mean he might have cancer.If anyone has first hand knowledge of the stages that a person goes through I would like to know.Maybe I am reading too much into all of this but he has been through so much that I need to know if it might get worse.Thanks for any info.
