Hello:

My 23 yr old son noticed a dime size bald spot on his head and it does not hurt him nor is it red or itchy or oily, nothing. Just a bald spot with a few hairs still in that spot. We dont know why he has it. Can anyone shed some light on the topic? He uses alot of gel and just had his hair dyed on both sides of his head, just a small area, you know like some rock stars do...he spikes his hair with gel too. I dont think that could be it since he has been using chemicals for years. The bald spot is near his neck line.

thanks
Mary

:) I forget the name for this alopecia but you can loose round spots on your head and its due to an immune response to the folicles - That is if this is what your son has. I would take him to a dermagologist and get it checked - it most likely will grow back
