hi,

Just got my three monthly bloods back and my CD4 count gone from 475 - 414 and viral load has gone from 2000 - 150 is this good although my CD4 count has dropped?
When is it a good time to start meds or when have other people started them?

thanks safari x:)

Safari: your t-cell count (CD4) will fluctuate due to all kinds of reasons including a mild cold, fatigue, a hangover, whatever. What you want is to make sure that your t-cell count is high and your viral load is low (un-detectible is ideal). What has your doctor told you about meds?

When I was first diagnosed twelve yrs ago, my t-cell count was 200. Over the past twelve yrs it has fluctuated as low as 84 to it's current level at 334.
My viral load has always been undetectible.

The point is that you need to have absolute faith in your doctor. Make sure he/she is on the cutting edge of new meds and has a full knowledge of HIV related issues. This is going to be a partnership and you want to make sure that it is a good one. chris
