I have hbp and taking hctz and was just told to take citalopram (lexapro)
does anyone know if taking the lexapro will affect my bp readings or bp meds?

If lexapro has any effect on your BP it will be to raise it. You'll just have to determine to what degree and act accordingly.
I think most anti-depressants are "stimulatory" and thus will have the expected effect of upping the BP.

An increase in BP is one of the side effects of AD's, especially Effexor.

Hi,
Antidepressants raised my blood pressure to a dangrous level :(, my blood pressure was 170/120 after few days from taking the antidepressant. I don't remember which one I was using though, I stopped after few days and my blood pressure went back after few days. Some people took the same medication and got no effects on blood pressure so you need to know if you are like me or not.
