I’m a 20 year old male. I exercise frequently and have no health problems that I know of. (other then mild insomnia for which I occasionally take ambien)

My problem is that if I watch any significant amount of television (15 minutes or more) or use the computer or any electronic type screen I start to become very dizzy and disoriented. I also get irritable and short tempered. Things that make me calm down and become clearheaded are reading or exercising. This has been going on for several years but has gotten worse. Sexual activity also creates a similar feelings of irritability and whatnot. If I am tired when using the computer/TV ect the dizziness comes on quicker and more severely.

Does anyone have an idea why this happens?

Thanks Much

Well, it could just be that you're sleep deprived. I get like that when I am going way too long without sleep. Have you had your eyes checked recently? Some people have those kind of problems and just need reading glasses. I would discuss this with your doctor just to see if he/she can make more sense of it.

driving you nuts isn't it! To be honest it could be anything but I have a hunch that your equalibrium my be off! You said that you exercise alot correct? This probably happens at times you least expect it too. You get the jitters, dizziness, excited, and maybe even a bit frustrated. It is hard to concentrate and at times you may feel like your high or that you have medicine head. this may happen when you read and watch tv and any type of activity that may require eye tracking. were you ever diagnosed with any form of ADD? This could be directley related to that as well. people who are dislexic also suffer from the same symptoms as those people who have equalibrium problems, in fact, doctors are begining to realize that they are both connected! If you believe that this could be your problem there is a simple solution. There is an over the counter medication called (meclizine hydrocloride) that is found in dramamine. Yeah i know sounds silly, but i couldn't see straight for months at a time and this drug straightened me out! before i couldn't see straight, I had similar symptoms as you..... but they did not go away and they progressed. I saw a doctor in long island, harold n levinson, he saved my life. If you want more info on your symptoms look up the book smart but feeling dumb.
