Can any of you tell me how long it usually takes between the time you get the letter from the judge saying "fully favorable" to the time you get the benefits letter saying what your back payment and monthly payment are going to be?

Thanks for your help! Hope everyone is having a great 4th of July!

It took about 3 weeks between the letter from the ALJ until my husband received his retroactive in the bank. It was a couple of weeks after that when he received his award letter and a month after that when he recieved his first monthly benefit.

I hear everyone talking about the check being deposited into their bank account before they even knew it would be there, No one ever asked my what my numbers were. I have received my fully favorable letter from the ALJ but no formal letter of decision from SS outlining what I will get.

When did they ask you for your bank info?

Thanks

When you first sign up for Disability they ask you for your bank information and if you want direct deposit. A few years ago they tried to force everyone on Social Security and Disability to go this route but it didn't work out. Too many Seniors didn't trust this method so you can still get a check or get direct deposit. Direct deposit is so much nicer because you don't have to go to the bank and cash the check or worry about weekends and holidays.

If I were you I would call your local office and ask to speak with your case manager and get this set up right away. It may not be in enough time, they may have already mailed your check minus any lawyer fees if applicable.

My husband just had his check deposited on Friday and we didn't even know, he had won because it had only been 3 months since he applied. I don't expect he'll get his letter for another month LOL!

Grats on the win!
