View Full Version : Looking 10 times heavier by the end of the day..

I wake up in the morning and I look normal. I know that once you eat/drink its natual for the stoamch to expand a bit but this is ridiculous for me. I am on a strict diet and try to drink a lot of water and stuff, but from day to night I look like I've gained 10 pounds in my stomach. I don't know what the hell is going on but it sucks. Any suggestions/comments?:confused:

Firstly, it depends heavily on the type- and amount- of foods that you are eating on this diet. Certain foods such as veggies or dairy or such can cause bloating and therefore a "bigger" tummy. Furthermore, if you aren't eating ENOUGH (overall), your stomach probably will have shrunken so that any food put in would cause bloating (think of commercials you see of starving children in developing countries with distended bellies). In addition, if you are eating salty foods or consuming lots of carbonated drinks (esp. diet pops, which have both sodium and carbonation), that is a culprit as well.

:eek: Wow, okay yeah I am doing ALL of those things. I have been on a low calorie strict strict diet. I have yogurt and veggies as my primary food intake...and I do have some carbonated drinks :( What should I do? I don't have ALOT of those things, but those are the things I like on my diet and those are what ifeel healthy eating. I knew some of those things could cuse bloating, but I figures bloating was just temperary gas that didn't change the look of your body...

omg..i know exactly how you feel!! i wake up comfortable and normal and then after dinner (my last meal of the day after eating everything ive had to for the day), i look like im 7 months pregnant. i know people get bloated after eating but i get like super duper bloated lol.i went to a nutritionist with a food journal and she calculated that on average i eat about 40 grams of fiber a day (i eat really healthy). I know it sounds weird, but try to cut down on fiber. too much of a good thing can be bad. and yea the carbonated drinks are no good either. also, do you chew gum alot? gum chewing is really bad for your stomach. esp if you chew on an empty stomach and then eat a meal afterwards. that always made me REALLY bloated. i hope this helped :cool:
