hi, i'm desperate to talk to anyone either with this condition, or knows someone who has it. docs can't find cause but have given me sodium bicarbonate tabs. to take. highest dose possible - 4tabs. x 4times a day. hope someone can help.:confused: :confused:

I have the same thing. I have currently been running from doctor to doctor for the past 2 years and finaly in July my internist reviewed all my labs and found I had metabolic acidosis. I am currently seeing a neph (he's an idiot) and he trying to decide whether sodium bicarbonate will fix the problem.
Did they run any tests on you? Were there abnormalities?
How do you feel now that you are taking the bicarbonate?
