A couple of months ago, I started developing minor adominal pain after eating. The pain would last for 3 to 4 hours.
Intially the pain seemed random, but as time passed, the intensity of the pain and length of the episode increased. I started taking a log of my meals and determined that my pain was associated with eating beef and pork. I can eat all the chicken, fish, shrimp, etc I can. Beef and pork causes me to double over in pain.
I'm at a loss. My gallbladder function is fine and I have no upper GI ulcers. My doctor doesn't know what the problem is and has given up.
Someone please help -- this is driving me nuts.

I have the same problem when I eat red meat. My pain is in the left lower side of my stomach but sometimes spreads. It can last 2-3 days. I recently had a blood test through the wellness center that showed my iron level to be very high. I think I have finally found a doctor that will listen to me and discuss my various symptoms. The ones that other doctors have blown off to stress. He thinks I may have iron overload (hemochromatosis). The body has a hard time getting rid of excess iron so it just builds up. I am also very constipated all the time - another sign of iron overload. Do you have other symptoms (even some that seem not related) that you notice with eating a lot of red meat or taking vitamins with iron? This may be something to look into.
