I need to buy some foundation. I have acne proned skin, so i figure using a powder foundation instead of a liquid one would be better, but i also need a concealer for certain spots. How do I choose an all over foundation and concealer so it doesn't look uneven?

What brand foundation did you buy? Sometimes using the same brand for products can be good to match it all up, but I use so many different brands!!

If the powder foundation you picked out doesn't work for you, I'd recommend Covergirl Aquasmooth (which is oil free).. it is a cream to powder type makeup, but makes my oily skin feel fresh and clean. I never use liquids! I also like mineral makeup.. also great for oily skin! Sometimes I'll use the Aquasmooth and then put a tiny bit of mineral makeup over it to get a really flawless look. You can also use these mineral makeups as concealer.. you just use a small push (or your finger even works) and apply it to the problem spot. I also really like Maybelline's Pure Concealer stick.. it has acne medication in it and it's great to put over pimples. I dust powder over it to make it stay on better and it blends in great!

Just be sure to blend your makeup well or go out in the natural sun light to check your makeup and see if the colors match up well. Make sure your concealer isn't too dark.. that can draw attention to spots, and concealer that is too light can look bad too. Remember that a lot of stores let you return makeup if it is the wrong color when you save your receipt.

I use Bare Minerals concealer and foundation. I really like it. I have tried all kinds of make-up but I am really happy with this. Although I have read some bad things on here about people not liking it. It is just a suggestion of mine. Good Luck!

I like using Mineral Foundations too. Loreal just came out with a new one and I like it better than any of the others because it doesn't give me a "dewy" look but more of a matte finish - just my personal preference. To use any of the mineral ones as a concealor just take a small brush and apply the minerals were you need a little extra coverage. Sonia Kashuk's line of brushes are sold at Target and are really good and affordable - I just got the concealor brush from this line for less than $6 and it's great!

I agree.. the Loreal kind works so good!! It definitely works as a concealer with a makeup brush!

I couldn't find the Loreal mineral makeup here (I live in a very rural area). But I saw that Everyday Minerals will send free samples (you pay $3.28 shipping). You choose different colors and finishes that you want to try and they send very generous samples. It was exactly what I was looking for with my pale skin. I have an uneven skin tone though and I wanted something that would hide the redness in my cheeks. I don't have rosacea but I got severely wind-burnt once and had the red everafter.

This product finally covered the red and matched my skin without making me look like a ghost. In fact, I look like I don't have any complexion problems at all. I chose the matte finish to order the full size. I also ordered the blush and finally found something that isn't so pink and fake looking on fair skin. They have super fast shipping and emailed me personally to ask how I liked the samples and if they could help in any way. I was also happy with the price.

No one makeup works for everyone but this was a cheap way to see if it will work for you.

Susan
