I'm 5'8 160lb and need to lose about 10-15 pounds before I start weightlifting. I hada serious habit of drinking about 4-6 pops a day. I've tried switching to 1 or 2 gatorades a day for about a month for a month and no results. I eat 2 meals a day and snack very little. any suggestions?

Gatorade is loaded with sugar as well, so switching from coke to gatorade isn't drastic enough.
Eating 2 meals a day is way to little, You need to eat 4-6 small meals a day to keep your metabolism steady, paying attention to total calories consumed.
There many great people on these boards who may be able to help you more...Those are my only suggestions

I agree. You did a good thing in giving up the soda but unfortunately, you replaced it with another sugar laden drink. If you can, try to limit yourself to 1 sugary drink if you must have it. Better yet, just drink water. You can actually learn to like it. Unsweetened tea is great too.
Along with Southern_belle's suggestions, make sure you're eating breakfast. In between meals eat healthy snacks. A small handful of nuts, a piece of fruit, a serving of cottage cheese, salad, or some string cheese, anything nutritionally dense and only in small amounts.
To really speed up losing that 10-15 lbs., do some aerobics every day. Just 30 minutes of anything that will get your blood pumping, and make you sweat a little, is going to make that weight come off that much faster. It speeds up your metabolism helping you to burn more calories throughout the day, even when you're resting.
Good luck!

Switch to diet soda or a Crystal Lite type non-caloric powdered drink.

If you're going to start weight lifting once the weight is off, you could start incorporating more clean eating now. It can take fat off as well as put muscle on. Eat 5 or 6 small meals a day and make sure you're eating right. Lean protein is the most important thing. Along with the obvious fruits and veggies. As far as the sugary drinks, I used to be a huge Coke drinker. That and creamer in my coffee were the hardest to give up. But, once you do, you'll see results. A small bottle of Gatorade has 130 calories that aren't doing anything for your body. Water is your friend! Iced tea, Crystal Light and even diet sodas are okay. And, definitely add some cardio exercise now.
