I have metabolic syndrome. I was always skinny and now I can't lose weight at all.:( I'm on metformin but it hasn't helped me. What drugs do doctors prescribe to help metabolic syndrome besides metformin? Is it possible to get rid of metabolic syndrome? I live a healthy lifestyle but I still have the syndrome.

Metabolic syndrome is a group of disorders. These are elevated blood glucose (insulin resistance), blood pressure, lipids, Abdominal obesity and other metabolic functions. Each one of these things is treatable and is treated separately.

Hi -- I was just diagnosed yesterday with insuline resistence. My test came back at 121. My Dr. said for women 120 and under is normal. He put me on Metformin HCL. I started taking it this morning along with Adipex to help regulate my insuline and lose weight. Just the past 1 1/2 I started gaining weight in my stomach area....that's why I went to see him, I have never had a stomach until recently. I exercise 4 days a week in a class and eat pretty heathly (I thought). How do you feel on the Metformin? It's making me pee alot! I feel foggy and just not well. I take Adipex too so I don't know if the two together are making me feel this way. Dr. said no interactions between the two. It's only day one but I was wondering how you felt and if you could share your side effects with me? :blob_fire
