Test your blood to find out. dont rely completely on how you feel.

Good advice, Bluej. You cannot rely on "feelings" to determine if you're high or low. Different people get different symptoms of both highs and lows; some people don't get any symptoms of highs, and the symptoms can change for the same person at different times.
As far as jumping from high to low, it doesn't usually happen in T2 diabetics who are controlled with diet, but no medication. But for those on medications, whether oral or insulin, whether T1 or T2, it definitely can happen. I've had days (and I know I'm not the only one) where I've gone up and down like a yoyo all day, with no good explanation other than that I'm diabetic, on insulin, and some days are just plain weird!
