Hi Tammy!

Thanx for your response to my post (Stomach Problems, please help!! (21 yr old student)).

I am still suffering terribly with my symptoms so just out of chance i did some searching on the net and discovered a symptom called Gastroparesis. My symptoms fit Gastroparesis to a tea and I am now very very worried!!! I read your post and I am even more worried. I have been fretting about this ever since I found out what Gastroparesis is a couple of weeks ago. What kind of "strict diet" do you have to stick to and how effective is the medication? Do you still suffer from any symptoms? I hear there is no cure for it and you just have to live with it so how has your quality of life been since you began managing your situation? I am having a Barium Meal this week which should tell me whether I have Gastroparesis or not but to tell you the truth I have already resigned myself to the fact that I have it! Every time I eat it feels more and more like "delayed stomach emptying". I am already preparing myself to leave University because I simple will not be able to live with this problem there. So sad!

Any help/tips would be greatly appreciated, jesstam67 (Tammy).
Thanx!

I would also greatly appreciate any advice Tammy has to give as well.I have suffered with similar symptoms for 10 + years now and have noticed them get worse in the last few months.Bloating.Belching.General chronic discomfort in stomach most especially after eating.I was told for YEARS that it was "just IBS" but my symptoms seem to resemble both yours and Tammy's.I have a new GI Doc,a motility doctor and he ruled out IBS during my first visit.I had an endescopy last week that revealed what looked like my liver sticking into the middle of my stomach.(??!!:-O).I have been taking Zelnorm since 6/23 and haven't noticed any change in my symptoms.I suspect that Gastroparesis will be his final diagnosis.I would appreciate any info that Tammy or other sufferers from GP coulsd give. Thanks in advance.
