My Dr. has informed me that the 2 screws in my foot to fuse the midfoot joint need to be removed in a few months. Is this done in the hospital and what is the recovery time? Is it local anthesia?

Wow. It looks like we had similar surgeries! In April, I had my midfoot fused with two large screws. Do you know which joint he fused? I had a fusion (talonavicular and calcaneal cuboid) a few years ago and had the screws removed after 9 months. The first couple days I was nwb but after that I think I was back to "normal" after a couple weeks. I think you might have to limit your activities because of the holes removing the screws will create. For me, the procedure was a huge relief!
