I have been taking nexium 40mg for some time now but there are times that I get nauseated for no apparent reason and empty my entire stomach. The doctor just says you have a bad stomach and deal with it.This is not acceptable to me and I would like some opinions. An example was thios afternoon I was taking a nap when all of a sudden I had a headach instantly became nauseated and had to run to the bathroom. The current medication that I take are nexium, paxil and allegra.Any input would be appreciated.

I will my a few comments.

1. You could be having a reaction to Nexium.

2. You may be having adverse drug interactions.

3. The nexium may not be working and you may need to try a different PPI.

4. You may have a problem that hasn't been diagnosed yet.

5. As yu can see there are several possible causes for your problem and I am sure others could list more. You need to continue to see your doc for other options or find another doc.

I was on Nexium 40mg and zantac 150mg/2x daily for 2 months. I went to the gastro and he told me to stop taking meds. I was feeling sometimes nauseated and i had excessive burping. I was scared to come off the meds, but my stomach has been alright with out them. You can take the nexium when you need it. I still have some burping (which I'm not sure why and it's annoying). Maybe you need to change/stop meds.

Nexium was too strong for my husband....he had constant headaches and didn't feel like eating anything. Your doc may need to change you to something else. Janetto
