Hello,
I am in need fo some help. I'm a usually healthy 26 year old male but about 9 days ago I noticed I had a high fever. There is NO flulike symptems, no nausia, no sickness. I don't have insurance, so I went to the free health clinic. They took a chest xray, drew blood, and took urine samples two different times. I've been there three times and they have been unable to find anything wrong with me. They gave me motrin and tylonal and told me it's prob a virus. The last time they saw me, they were shocked that it had not gone away and sent me to the emergency room - which I left because I can not afford it.
The only symptoms I have had the past 9 days are a high fever and an over

104 fever for 9 days.Your body is definetly fighting off some sort of infection. You need to find out what is going on. It is hard with no insurance but yet you can't continue to go on like this.

Best of luck.

Sometimes they may never find the cause and so with regular Doctors --- they have to give it a name in order to treat it. No name ---No treatment!!

The best thing I know of homeopathically for fever and inflammation is a remedy --- Belladonna and you can buy it at most health food stores. Just take it like it says on the container!!!

I wish you well---Harry

Sorry to hear about your problems. 9 days with a fever seems like a long time. If your blood work looked ok, then maybe it's just a virus that needs to run it's course. A friend of mine is fighting something similar right now. The doc told her that if the fever continued for 6 days to take the prescription of antibiotics that she was given even though a bacterial infection has not been found. Personally I am against taking antibiotics unless a bacterial infection has been found but if I were in her shoes I would probably be at a point of trying anything.

There are bacteria that infect the body that does not cause a fever and some that your body's immune system does not recognize as an infection. Like ulcers with H.pylori bacteria and the bacteria that causes pink eye.

The body can run a fever because of inflammation. I think the thing we have to remember is we are all different--- That is why all medication doesn't work the same. We have different side-effects and different reaction alot.
