Ive had anxiety issues for the past 7 years, My last Doc diagnosed me with Panic Disorder. I have never take any medication for this. I just went to see a Doc this week and got 15 mg Buspar twice a day.

I am not sure What would be the best med. Buspar takes about 7-10 days before the full effects kick in. I am getting the Placebo effect right now I think.

But I wanted to ask what exactly is the difference between Panic Disorder and axiety disorder?
and anyone here had luck with Buspar?

for the past 7 years IT would come and go, stress brings it on.
Blood pressure is one of the things that freaks me out, whenever i think of it. I get hot nervous. Sometimes I would jsut sit and I would have bad thoughts and get hot and then I get nervous and Feel the need to run away.

i have been on buspar for 2 years. i started with 15mg twice a day. i have recently upped it to 60mg a day. apparently it stopped working. anxiety disorder is usually an overall anxiety from mild to severe. panic disorder is feeling okay or somewhat anxious and then you get a panic attack. i didn't have panic attacks but i do have constant anxiety. the buspar starts kicking on on me about the 4th day. i am on day 10 and am feeling so much better. the side effects are minimal. hope it helps you.:angel: God bless you.

I was dx with GAD in my 20's. took buspar for along time and loved it. I had no side effects to it but was alot calmer. since then was dx with PTSD about 5 years ago. went through intense therapy and now take nothing but a klonopin as needed.

I've had anxiety issues for years. Mainly Irritable Bowel. I was put on a variety of meds for it (Dicyclomine etc) and then got moved to Imipramine. Both dried my mouth out terribly. They then moved me to Effexor. Worked great, but I had the "rare" side effect of alcohol abuse. I gained 40 lbs etc.... The reason I say "rare" is I've seen others on here say they have had it too. So, not so rare. Since stopping Effexor I don't have those issues.

I've been on Buspar for 1 year and think it is great for anxiety. I started with 15mg per day and it didn't seem to do much for a while and even caused some side effects.... Once my body got use to it I was fine. I settled on 22.5 mgs per day.

I sometimes wonder if effects my memory. Meaning I can do or read things and don't remember that well. Not real important things, but the little things. I am now doing better and lowered my dose to 15mg per day to see if its the BuSpar or me.

If anyone else on it has the memory issue please let me know. I wonder if I'm just not paying enough attention. Becasue the medicine works great for me. No stomach problems for a while and generally much calmer.

I like it and would recommend it to anyone for a try. All these things work differently for everybody.
