View Full Version : Skin tags

I saw something about this in another thread and I thought I would post this. I had a small skin tag right on my collar bone for years and I hated it yet never went to have it removed for some reason. I read about this in a magazine and decided to try it. Take a length of thread and tie it very tightly around the skin tag. Pull the thread as tight as it will go. After 2-3 knots, cut the rest of the thread. Wait about 2 weeks and it should fall off. The loss of blood flow kills it.

If it doesn't fall off (and this happened to me), boil a pair of nail scissors for 20 minutes. Wipe the tag with rubbing alcohol and snip it off. I was so scared, I drank a glass of wine first but I didn't even feel it. It was already dead but just didn't fall off. I was so happy to have that thing gone. It looked like an old booger stuck to my collar bone. LOL!!!

That was 10 years ago and it never grew back. At first, there was a small discoloration like a freckle. Now you can't see at all where it was.

Don'tlikecold.....thank you so much. I had heard about that a long time ago but I didn't know if it would work or not. I am willing to try it though. Will the thread be noticable?

I used a peach color thread because I thought the same thing but really you can't see it unless you leave more thread hanging from it. I cut it pretty close and you just couldn't see it at all. It really works though!

oh my goodness lol I feel sick.

Maybe you can help me..

I'm not sure whether what I have is a skin tag or not. What qualifies as a skin tag?

On my tricep close to my underarm there is like a...piece of skin almost I guess looks like I had lipo in this one little area?!
