DS is 21 mths old and has been going pee pee in the bathtub after his bath since he was 16mths. These days he wants to go pee pee standing up on a stool in the big potty. He goes pee pee but then thinks that he is going to go again so refuses to wear his diaper. He will run around the house naked and if i try to make him wear his diaper he cries. He does not sit in his potty chair yet. My question is what do i do after he has gone pee pee once but refuses to wear a diaper? Also wht we do when we go out. He refuses to sit and do pee pee and does not reach the big pot standing. Your experienced replies will be highly appreciated.

Thanks!

They do make a foldable potty seat that will fit in your diaper bag for when you go out, look for it at Toy's R Us or online. Have you tried switching to Pull-ups? Tell him they aren't diapers, they are big boy pants. He may be more likely to put them on after peeing.

Persistance!! My ds#1 (turned 2 on June 30th) has been sitting on the potty to go pooh - pooh and pee-pee since he was about 10 months old. Don't get me wrong, he still pee's in his diaper but he will poop on the potty and hold his pee sometimes so he can go on the potty. Does he watch his Daddy go pee standing up? If so, try getting him to sit down and let your ds see that. Daddy should be the one to show him it's okay to sit to pee too. My ds wants to do what dh does. Once he starts going sitting down keep him doing that. He can always change to standing when he is old enough to decide on his own how to use the toilet!
I know a guy who is 26 now and still sits down to pee! Just got use to it and likes it better that way I guess. My dh does that sometimes too at night if he can't see what he's doing and doesn't want to turn on the light!

DS does see DH go pee pee standing up. I guess i will ask him to sit and go pee pee for a while so DS can also do the same. He does have a potty chair but does not like to sit without his diaper on it. Lets see how he does when he sees DH doing it sitting down. Thanks!

DS sounds like a very smart little guy! I taught preschool for 6 years and two year olds were my favorite, it is the age of "I DO!". I can't count how many kids I have potty trained lol. A trick I found with little boys is that they really like the control. I would sit them backwards on the potty (like sitting on a horse facing the tank), that way they could still see what they were doing and didn't feel like they were falling in. Most of my boys would be potty trained in less than three months this way it was great!

I had bought my DS a small step stool so he could reach while standing up. When he would go it made small bubbles in the water and we made a game out of it, to see how many bubbles he could make. I also used the pulls ups cause he didnt wanna wear a diaper anymore also. They have some really cute ones out with cartoons on them just like the big boy undies. Ive also heard of moms putting a few Cheerios in the water and have them aim at them.

I can't tell you how long we just went naked. He would go when he had to but I did not put a diaper or anything on him. We had to use a diaper when going out.

Rouge, what did u make him wear at night? Did you use disposable training pants? During the day did you make DS wear cloth training pants or underwear at home? How long did he go naked and how long it took to get him potty trained. Sorry for asking so many queations but i dont know what to do. DS tells me pee pee everytime he wants to go but whn i take him to the bathroom he takes forever to go pee pee. I am not putting too much stress on his potty training yet coz we are going to be travelling for 2 weeks and i know i wont to be able to do much but when we return i am going to try my best.
Thanks!

My question is what do i do after he has gone pee pee once but refuses to wear a diaper? Also wht we do when we go out. He refuses to sit and do pee pee and does not reach the big pot standing.Put undies on him when he refuses to wear a diaper. When you're out if he won't sit and can't reach then pick him and put him in the right direction!

Get him "big boy underware." He won't wet himself. If he does, it will probably be just once or twice, because they don't like the wet feel. He wants to stand, then let him. Daddy does.

My son prefers to sit and pee pee on the big toilet. I think it is because he sees his two sisters and I sitting on when we pee pee.
I have tried making him stand but he refuses.
