View Full Version : Why when I eat tuna or salmon, I sometimes feel like it won't go down.

Sometimes when I eat tuna or salmon from the can, I feel as if it's gong to come back up. Sort of a burning feeling. Like it's stuck somewhere in the esophagus. It took a while to go away, and then I proceeded to finish the tuna/salmon without much trouble.

I never know when this is going to happen. I wonder if depression, anxiety or stress has something to do with it. I don't have any stomach ulcers I know of. Have you experienced that? Do you know why it only seems to happen to me with tuna or salmon? Must be something in the fish. Would you agree? Thanks. MV

Hi,

I dont have trouble swallowing Tuna or Salmon, however ever time I eat it it hurts my Stomach, esp Tuna.

I have Panic/Anxiety and have trouble swallowing many things.IE Milk from a bowl or cereal, gravy, mashed potatoes to name a few.Anything creamy or whipped.

I tend to believe the more we notice it the worse it will be.

Jasmine,
Thanks for sharing! Yeh, stuff like that have been happening to me for many years off and on. Strange. Oh, and please don't take my bowl of mashed potatos and gravy. lol. One of my favorites.

Things creamy or whipped, huh? That seems sort of strange to me. I also think that the older I get the more that probs will eventually surface. MV

Hi MV,

Your more than welcome!I never had any problems swallowing til I developed PD.I never thought about swallowing.

I hear ya I love ol taters and gravy http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/tongue.gif Yeah creamy and whipped.I dont have difficulty swallowing all the time,I guess when my Throat muscles are tense.

You may not have as many problems getting older.I think you may getting the cart before the horse there. You just have to wait it out and see.
