I know that everyone loses hair every day, but I was wondering, how much hair is it normal to find in the shower drain after shampooing? Yes, this is kind of a yucky question, but I would really appreciate input from other people on what is the norm for this. Thank you!

The average amount that you can lose a day is around 50 to 150. But depending on the person it can be a little less or more. :)

Everyone loses hair about the rates mentioned above. It's just that when you're balding, not all of those hairs grow back (or if they do, they grow back thinner).

So - for male pattern baldness at least - it is wrong to think finding hairs in the drain or on your pillow indicate hair loss.

Azerty123 is right. for Male patterned hair loss, it is more concerned about the hair growth vs the hair loss rate. if its kept at a relative close level, its alright. however if hair growth drops for whatever reason and hair loss remains at constant pace. balding might happen quicker than expected.
