Hi everyone,

I am new here and nees some help.... recently I took some medication (migrane related) which resulted in me having a big reaction and breathing problems. Ever since I have developed "air hunger" which is constant and it is driving me mad giving me huge panic attacks each day. I feel like I can't get enough oxygen and that I am being strangled. The doctor has diagosed GERD after an endoscopy plus also a problem with the oesophageal junction. I have been on the GERD meds but they are not working and the panic attacks are getting worse. I have a contionous feeling that I will die or someone close to me will..... Sometime it is so bad I can hardly bear it, the doctor has put me on 50mg of Zoloft which I have been on for 6 weeks but it has not helped. I have also tried to do breathing exercises but they have also not helped. Does anyone else have this constant air hunger? I need some advice as it is ruining my life!

Thanks,
Naomi
P.S. My chest xray was clear and my heart and lungs seem okay.....

I took Zoloft for my OCD and anxiety, and it didn't do much for my OCD, and it did absolutely nothing for my panic attacks. I've also taken Lexapro and Prozac, and had the same results. Do you have any benzodiazepines that you can take, like Klonopin or Xanax? Klonopin is the only thing that can get rid of my panic attacks. If you're not currently taking a benzo, you should really consider asking your doctor about getting on one...

Thanks a million for the advice. I will speak to my doctor, I really need to get this under control as right now I can't seem to function normally.
