I am 36 yo female. I recently had bloodwork done and my Dr. wanted to rule out MS bacause I had a couple of tiny white matter lesions (not consistant with MS) on my MRI. I have had episodes of double vision over the past 9 years so this is why I got the tests. My bloodwork came back good, except for this Rheumatoid factor number, which my neurologist didn't mention.. I have had stiffness in my hips since I was in HS, this would come and go, I haven't felt that in about 8 mos though. I have two knuckles on my left hand (the first largest ones) that have swollen on occasion. I had Lyme disease (with the rash) for which I was treated in 1988, although I think the effects have liguered.

Is it possible to have a RF of 22.3 and not have RA?

Hi

RF can be pos in healthy people and other diseases as well. The number is very low but I would ask the DR to do the Anti-ccp blood test which is more specific for RA. Hope this helps

Kassy
