Hi. I am wondering if anyone might have any suggestions to a problem I have been having for about 6 years now. I have been to my doctor many times and have had upper GI, ultrasounds, xrays, barium swallow, etc. Have been to gastoenterologist as well. Nothing ever came of it. Pretty much every time I eat, I get severe stomach pain right under my breastbone. Sometimes it can last as long as 24 hours. Like someone taking their fist and just sqeezing my stomach in a ringer. Sometimes I get pain under my shoulderblade. I am constanly burping. Sometimes I feel nauseated or have lots of gas or diarreah. Sometimes I can feel like a gurgling up around my chest. Once I have woke up in the middle of the night because of a shooting pain from my right side around to my back. All of this makes me think it is my gallbladder.Antacids or gingerale help sometimes. The past couple of years I have had a popping feeling around my ribs sometimes and when I breathe it islike a constant fast gurgle underneath my ribs. Lately I have had a feeling of a lump in my throat and sometimes feels like the back of my tongue is swelling up. I do have panic attacks/anxiety.. so I am not sure if the throat swelling could possibly be related to stress. I do have constant throat clearing and postnasal drip as well as a pain around my eye that goes up the side of my head and around my ear and down my neck. I am not sure if this could all be related to GERD possibly. I do get scared and wonder if maybe my anxiety is getting the best of me. I am tired of nothing happening or show up on any tests. Has anyone gone through any of these same things? Sometimes I think it is all in my head but I know it is not true. If anyone can offer any suggestions or opinions, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I have had what doctors have labeled nervious stomach since college. It was caused by stress. I had it at exam time etc. Worry has always gone to my stomach and now as I am 60 I have GERDS and barrients esophagus which I control somewhat with diet and drugs. Try to find ways to relieve stress in your life. This has always helped me when I could do it. Sometimes just knowing I have GERDS can worry me but really you can't dwell on your problems. I have several activities that can make all stomach pain go away for some time.
For me they are sailing and working on my old automobiles and rental houses. For some reason these activities take away all stress.
If you are worried you have GERDS see a Doctor, do what he says and forget it. Then find something to relieve your stress. Good luck

My upper GI problems almost always turn out to be associated with my lower bowel having problems.
My lower bowel has had problems from having endometriosis and adhesions growing on the outside and attaching my organs together so sometimes the gut gets spastic. When I get big bad spasms I may or may not feel the exact spasm but if we treat the lower end of the colon then the upper GI distress goes away.
There are a lot of reasons for upper GI distress.
You also might want to check with a cardiologist because it's possible for Cardiovascular problems to look like gastro problems.

Hi.. I haven't been on here for a while. I finally have an answer that I have been looking for for about 7 years. Thank god I'm not crazy! After pushing my doctor.. she finally sent me to a surgeon who sent me for a hida scan. It revealed that I have gb problems. It did not fill up at all during the procedure. I met with the surgeon yesterday and she said there was a 75%chance it is my gallbladder because no stones were detected and it would be reasonable to take it out. So I said yes.. and now I am very nervous and scared. I already have terrible anxiety and panic attacks and this just seems to add to it. Just the thought of surgery scares me. I know I have to keep on a positive note and think of the end results.. but sometimes it is hard. Anyone else had the same thoughts? So within the next month it should be out and I am hoping it will solve most of my stomach problems. It has been a long journey.. The only reason I got where I am is from persistance. Now it's finally here and it seems like everything is moving so fast. I would love to hear any comments or suggestions on how to not be so nervous. Thanks everyone!
