I've looked online and find a lot about bright red blood in your stool and blackish stool, but what about areas that look pinkish? Today I looked closely at my bowel movement and saw what looked like little pieces of pink tissue. I've also been inspecting it lately with a flashlight (I know, I'm paranoid!) bc I've read so much about colon cancer, and I swear I saw some reddish-pink streaks. They arent bright, like the blood from a nosebleed, but like i said, "pinkish". When I just glance at what is in the toilet w/out a flashlight, it looks normal.
I am so worried. I am 30 years old. Am I just being paranoid and looking too closely??
It can be serious or it can be very benign. I had two friends, who after hearing my story got worried by any small amount of pink in their stool. They both went to soctors and found some small things which was taken care of by creams or oral medicine.
Do your self a favor, stop worrying and see a doctor. As I said he can figure out by varous tests, what it is.

I'm in my thirties but there is a history of colon cancer in my family (father got it in his 80s, his brother in his 60s) so I kept pestering my doctor until she okayed a barium enema with air contrast test (they said I was too young for a full colonoscopy absent symptoms). It was no fun but the results were all normal and now I am not worried, until the next test.
Also I do the fecal blood test every year.
I would recommend you get into a doctor ASAP. I had zero symptoms and am your age and look at all I did anyway to screen myself.

My father had blackish stools with blood and his came from an ulcer. Probably you need both an endoscopy of the stomach and a colonoscopy to check your colon.
