I go to a doctor who deals with bipolar next week for the first time. you can read about it in my other post on here. Im wondering should I bring up the fact that it would suit me to never have sex? I think I would be embarassed about talking about it with them. I dont know if its my meds or not. I think its a cross between that and the fact that I have a 1,2 and a 10 yr old and a 3yr old with special needs on top of it all. How would I go about bringing it up or will he?
Thanks

I think it's important to bring everything up with the doctor that way he will be able to pick the right meds for you. If your sex drive is down it may be due to one of the meds you are on and he can make the appropriate changes.

I read you last post and know that you are nervous. My daughter's pdoc basically spent most of his time gathering a history and some do psychological testing which are answereing lots of questions. The improtant thing is to answer them as honestly as you can that way the doctor will be able to per scribe the proper meds and recommend the best treatment.

I think it's great that you are going to a Bipolar specialist rather than your GP. I am sure that you will be evaluated much more thoroughly.

I hope everything goes well and be sure to let us all know how everything goes.

hi,
i've had the same problem. antidepressants can do that to u. wellbutrin is a good one as it has no sexual side effects. i was on zoloft and had alot of problems with it but had them switch my meds and am doing much better now. i know it's embarassing to bring it up but i had to bc i couldn't stand it and the dr. understood and switched my meds. u should definitely bring it up. i'm on abilify lamictal and luvox and have had no problems with them having sexual side effects. i hope all goes well for you and you are brave enuf to bring it up and get this problem resolved.
