Hi all. This is just a question about the finacial state of things when you have PA. Is it keeping(or kept) anyone from working? In USA,(or anywhere) does it qualify you for SSI or anything els  known? I am just wondering about this and if you can answer let me know. Thank You. mcjonval:wave:

I Have Had Ra For Many Years Now And I Applied For Disability But I Was Turned Down And Had To Hire A Lawyer. I Finally Was Approved For Ssi. That Was Because I Havent Worked In Several Years. Had I Been Working I Would Of Gotten More. I Do Recieve A Small Check But The Best Thing Is That All My Medical Bills And Medication Are Paid For.
If You Have Anymore Questions Feel Free To Ask. Good Luck !

Hello. Thanks for writing back. It is good to hear that this is a possibility. The PA has caused alot of days when no work is even possible. My husband has worked most of his life so maybe at some point that might help. The best thing is ...that the medical insurance is a plus+. Thanks a lot! mcjonval:wave:

Hi Pebbs,
I am interested in seeing about getting some kind of financial help for RA. Could you tell me how old you are and what state (USA?), and also how long where you out of work. I am 55 and have been out of work about 5 years, and that was temporary work - office type. Out of work for being a caregiver for my MIL and then my parents and FIL and now me! Still watch after my parents some too. I live in the Houston Texas area.
Also, was the lawyer a lot of money and did it take a long long time to get this done for you?????
Thanks for any help you can give me.

Hello everyone. I was wondering if there was any news about SSI or any other finacial helps for living with PA/RA? When it is so bad that you cannot even work and it affects every area of your normal life; what do you then do to live and keep your household up and running?(sort of speak) Any info would be helpful. An appointment was made(yet to come up) but the results are not yet known. Keep in touch. Thank You...lots. mcjonval

Hello. Iam just writing to tell anyone who is interested that we have applied for assitance(still pending)until we hear about the SSD we also applied for.(still pending) 2-3 months they said till they know. They have you fill out MANY forms with questions that repeat themselves alot. I think this is to find out if your REALLY sick or trying to just get money. Also you have to go see their Doctors(but they pay for that, THANK GOD! ).:D SSD is social Security Disability, in case any one is unfamiliar with that. They help finacially and take care of most or all medical. We will keep you informed on what happens as we find out. Have a wonderful day. As much as you can. mcjonval:wave:

Hi. this is an update on the SSD etc...help that is being considered for finacial and Medical help. We are still waiting since there is a 90 day waiting period. They send papers that ask the same questions only a little differently put. None of this matteres if you tell the truth always because it doesnt really change. Except by a meraculous healing from God. Most people I have spoke with suffer quite a long time before well enough to assume once again a normal life style. Also the state assitance has helped us out temporarily until we find out about the SSD. It is a little Finacial, Medical and also food. It is quite a blessing in these situations...even if they are only temporary, And better if they are not. Ok, hope to hear from someone interested in what is going on with these kind of battles. God Bless you. mcjonval
