The best thing for someone with PCOS and a weight problem is try to cut out breads and starches. I am currently trying, but it sooo hard. I LOVE bread!!

My first suggestion would be to have your friend request her dr/gp send her to a nutritionist. They should be able to help her to create a diet that works best for her and her needs with the PCOS. Second off, if she is clearly gaining weight or having real trouble losing she may want to ask her dr about metformin for insulin resistance. Although it has its initial drawbacks due to side effects when you first start it, they are temporary and it made a huge difference for me.

I agree with missymae. She needs to see her doctor (preferably an endocrinologist). She needs to have everything checked out so that she knows what she is up against. Once all that is figured out, then she should see a nutritionist.
