I caught Salmonella food poisoning from bad potato salad that I bought at a grocery store.

I had a very bad case, missed a week of work, 104 temp, uncontrollable vomiting and diahrreah and a lot of pain. Ended up in the ER for 8 hours. Lost 15 pounds of water in 24 hours and had to have 4 bags of IV's to rehydrate me. Was put on a high dose of Cipro, powerful penicillian used for E Coli, Salmonella, and Anthrax.

Lucky I'm okay. It's been a month, and I can still only eat 1/3 of what I used to eat. When I try to eat "normal" amounts (my previous intake), I constantly feel like I want to throw it up.

My stomach feels full after 1/3 of a meal and I'm losing weight without really wanting to.

Has anyone experienced anything similar, and how long until you were able to eat normally without feeling sick to your stomach?

I would mention it to the doctor. You could have developed a secondary infection or some other related problem. It also sounds like it could be a parasite. I had salmonella too once, but once the vomiting and fever ended on the second day and the diarrhea cleared up a few days afterwards I was able to eat normally.
