i have been smoking for 13 yrs,i am 26 yrs old.i quit once before using the patch,for 3 months.now i am in smoking cessations classes,we meet every thursday.well heres the thing,our quit date,if we chose to quit,is 2 thursdays from now.and then twothursdays from there the classes end.i really want to quit smoking this time,i really do.but in august ,the 12- 19 i am going on vacation with my family,mostly all of them smoke.its going to be like 15 of us going.i dont know if i should quit now or after vacation??? i am really worried that if i quit now and go on vacation this early that i might be tempted...any suggestions or input would be really appreciated?????thank you

You have to realize you will be around these people in the future.Its gonna be hard reguardless if its 2 weeks or 2 months.You apparently have given this some thought or you wouldn't be taken these classes.Theres always going to be that temptation,a passer bye,in a resturaunt.All you can do is try.

I quit smoking while with my husband who was a smoker smoked around me, it is possible you just have to realise if you want to stop you will regardless of who is doing what around you, in fact after 10 days of me not smoking my husband also quit, perhaps he saw how easy it really was, and decided it was something that he was able to do..( or maybe i nagged him to submission) 8 of my friends have also given up, although some have gone back its a good thing for people to see as it really is not as hard as we think it is and its all they need to make the step themselves.
