Shalom,
I am in need of a new mattress and at age 50 have spinal osteoporosis. My back hurts every night and every day at this point. Does anyone have a suggestion for a specific mattress that would enable me to get a good night's sleep?

my mum suffers with a bad back due to problems with her discs and I have osteoporosis myself and also an auto-immune illness that can cause a lot of pain and weakness. We each have a tempa mattress. I'm in the UK, but i'm guessing you get them in america too. They have springs deep underneath and have a thick foam layer on top that moulds to your body shape when you sleep on them. They have given a lot of pain relief to me and my mum because your body doesn't have any pressure points on the bed. It accommodates you as opposed to you accommodating it. Your back is supported by it by the foam filling the arch of your back. They are very comfortable as you never get springs digging in you, plus they are a high-ish bed which makes life easier getting in and out of it.

They are alo sometimes called tempur mattresses or memory foam mattresses

The memory foam (tempurpedic is one brand name) are great. Your body just sinks in and when you change positions, the mattress changes with you. If you can't afford the mattress you can purchase a topper (about 3-4 inches of memory foam) to put on top of any mattress. That's what I did and I saved alot of money and it still works for me.
