I'm very very worried about having my bunion surgery. I want to have this surgery because I do have a moderate bunion that has really been painful for the last 8 months. But my job, at work at a commissary at a military post, which requires me to stand for 4 to 8 hours at a registar. I have enough leave for 3 weeks but I never had a surgery in my life and I really want to make sure I do everything right to heal properly, and not aggrivate my foot. Is 3 weeks enough or am I pushing it?. I'm really lost on this , but I really fell the need for this surgery:confused:

Other gals here have returned to standing/walking jobs in three weeks or less. For me, my dr. said I could only return to full weight bearing at three weeks so I don't know that I'd want to stand for eight hours but I think I could do it if I had to. (I have just hit the three-week mark)

I have seen some cashiers sit on a tall stool while they work. Would you be able to do something like that?
