Hello. I am new to this forum, but the reason I am posting is that I am concerned about a spot that appeared on my forehead this weekend. It is actually not a spot at all, but rather the size of a baseball. After being in the sun for 6 hrs with no sunscreen, I developed this huge brown discoloration on my forehead. It has faded some, but not gone away. I have a family hx of skin cancer dating back several generations. Is this discoloration need for concern other than for just pure cosmetic reasons?

i dont know if this is the same thing but when i was pregnant i was out in the sun for a while and caught a tan on my legs, but there were places where i had dark patches, after going to my dr, he assured me it was nothing to worry about, all the hormones in my body caused pigmentation in my skin. if you truely are worried its better not to risk anything serious and see your gp, but remember prevention is nearly always better than cure even if its a low factor sunscreen, its better than going without
